What is generative engine optimization (GEO)?
Generative engine optimization is the work of making a business the source that AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Overviews cite or recommend in their answers. It builds on SEO and adds entity clarity, structured data, quotable content and third-party corroboration.
Is GEO the same as AEO?
They overlap. Answer engine optimization (AEO) usually means structuring content so engines can lift a direct answer, as in featured snippets and voice results. GEO covers that and also the signals generative AI uses to decide which businesses to name and cite. We use both terms for the same program.
Do I still need traditional SEO if I invest in GEO?
Yes. Google AI Overviews draw on Google's search index, and assistants with web search draw on search results. Pages that are not indexed, fast and clearly structured are rarely cited. Every Brightex plan includes SEO and GEO together for that reason.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend my practice?
No one can guarantee a specific AI answer, because the platforms control their output. What we commit to is the work that measurably raises citation share and the reporting that shows it. The Accelerator program's 90-day guarantee is tied to targets agreed in your plan.
What does a functional medicine SEO agency do?
It improves how often a practice appears when patients search for its conditions, treatments and location. That covers technical site health, Google Business Profile, condition and protocol content, reviews, citations and structured data. Brightex also optimizes for AI assistants.
Do you build or redesign websites?
We fix the technical and conversion issues that hold rankings back, including speed, structure, schema and booking paths. Full redesigns are scoped separately when the current site cannot be repaired cost-effectively.
Who writes the clinical content?
Our writers draft condition and protocol pages from your practice's approach, and a clinician on your team reviews each page for accuracy before it is published. Pages show the reviewer and review date.
How much does SEO for a functional medicine practice cost?
Brightex programs are $2,497, $3,997 or $6,997 per month, depending on locations, content volume and competition. Every plan has a one-time $997 setup fee, the first month of retainer is free, and there is a six-month minimum term starting with the first paid month.
Why do you publish your prices?
Practice owners want to know the cost before a sales call. Publishing our fees saves both sides time and keeps the conversation on fit and results.
Is there a long-term contract?
Yes. Every program has a six-month minimum term that starts with your first paid month, month two, because SEO results compound over time. After that it is month to month, and you can cancel with 30 days' notice before your next billing date. All fees are non-refundable, so we review every term with you before you sign.
How does the 90-day guarantee work?
On the Accelerator program, the 90-day clock starts at confirmed campaign launch. If agreed targets are not met by day 90, we keep working at no fee until they are. It requires platform access within 7 days of signing and no conflicting SEO work during the term.
How long does SEO take for a medical practice?
Technical and Google Business Profile fixes often move local visibility within 30 to 60 days. Content authority and AI citations compound over three to six months, and competitive metros take longer.
Which industries do you work with?
Functional and integrative medicine is our founding specialty. We also run dedicated programs for elder law and estate planning firms, memory care and assisted living communities, home care agencies and ABA therapy providers. We do not take on general clients outside these industries.
Do you work with practices outside Michigan?
Yes. Brightex is based in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, and works with clients across the United States.
